About Me
B.A. in Strategic Communications from Elon University '25
Current M.S. in Communication Candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State University '27
My undergraduate experience at Elon University nurtured my passion for communications and inspired me to pursue a graduate degree in the field. With the support of professors, mentors, and peers, I have been encouraged to continue my education to give back to my community.
The newest research interest of mine is the factual accuracy of the Minnesota ICE shootings and the killing of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. This thesis idea came to me as I continued to see false claims and statements being spread about innocent people. Battling misinformation has become a passion of mine, especially when it comes to respecting individuals’ lives. NC State has connected me with supportive professors who recognize the value of my research interests, especially when paired with my criminal justice background.
My passion for human rights and safety began with my experience studying abroad in Copenhagen. This experience expanded my worldview through courses like Positive Psychology and Nordic Noir. Traveling to Edinburgh, Scotland, and Aarhus, Denmark, I engaged with local businesses focused on community enrichment. During this time, I lived with a Danish host family, which further deepened my cultural understanding and taught me the importance of community for a fulfilling life. The Danish lifestyle was infectious. My host “mom” and I had deep political, theological, and philosophical discussions each night for four months, and we always agreed with one another because of the shared belief in the value of a productive, supportive society. We never ran out of topics and continue to text as new issues arise. I had a transformative experience that inspired me to pursue a meaningful life and career grounded in authenticity, altruism, and humility.
